A reformulation of the Siegel series

Abstract : The Siegel series is defined to be a local factor of the Fourier coefficient of the Siegel-Eisenstein series. It is usually described as a polynomial, whose coefficients are known to be difficult to compute. In this talk, I will explain a precise reformulation of the Siegel series using stratification of p-adic scheme, geometric description of each stratum, Grassmannian, and lattice counting argument. This would give a conceptual interpretation of each coefficient of the Siegel series. If time permits, then I will discuss about ongoing work related to this topic.
