Local single ring theorem on optimal scale
[2018 KAIST-HKUST-NUS Joint Workshop in Mathematics : Analysis, PDE and Probability]
Date: 2018-11-17
Speaker : Zhigang Bao (HKUST)
Abstract : The celebrated single ring theorem asserts that the eigenvalues of a non-Hermitian random matrix with given singular values are asymptotically distributed on a single ring in the complex plane. In this talk, I will present a local version of this theorem on the optimal scale, which implies the optimal convergence rate of the single ring law. This is a joint work with Laszlo Erdos and Kevin Schnelli.
